Dahyun Ryu (류다현, 柳多炫) is an award-winning multi-media interdisciplinary artist based in California, United States, and Seoul, Republic of Korea. You can call her Roo for short–Roo, as in kangaroo.​ This is also how her surname, Ryu, is pronounced.

Roo, a lover of dark and creepy folklores with the biggest sweet tooth, always aspires to become the real-life version of Willy Wonka. She brings this whimsical spirit to life by experimenting with the sweet sensations of traditional collage and stop-motion animation that capture surrealist and magical realist elements. Passionate about exploring diverse art-making techniques, Roo works across mixed media, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, coding, filmmaking, game development, comics, sound design, performance, installation, and more.​

Basically, she does everything. Roo loves all genres, styles, techniques, and mediums in visual storytelling. She thrives on pushing creative boundaries through various forms of art, messing around and embracing whatever ideas excite her.
